Zions Bancorporation in the United States is seeking an SBA Underwriter to assess commercial loan applications, compile data for credit packages, cash flow analyses, and prepare summaries for credit approvers.

The role emphasizes thorough credit analysis, adherence to banking policies and laws, and clear communication with Relationship Managers. This position offers remote work in AZ, CO, ID, NV, UT, and TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in finance, business, accounting or related field and 1 year commercial, commercial real estate credit or business banking underwriting, spread analysis, lending, underwriting concepts, practices and procedures or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of commercial, CRE and/or business banking credit underwriting.
• Knowledge of balance sheets, income and cash flow statements.
• Good understanding of commercial and/or business banking lending policies and procedures and laws.
• Ability to analyze and research financial statements, business plans, credit reports, debt ratios and loan-to-value information.

Responsibilities

• Compilate data as it relates to preparation of credit packages (or pre-screens) incorporating spreads, cash flow, value of related collateral, appraisals, audits, and other data.
• Interpret outcome of analysis and prepare summary, recommendation, and may make joint presentations with Relationship Manager to Credit Approvers on renewals and new loans.
• Evaluate, analyze and form opinions for approving or denying loan applications.
• Spread financial statements, identify credit strengths and weaknesses, provide detailed analysis of credit worthiness.
• Ensure credit requests are processed in accordance with bank policies and laws.
• Identify risk and mitigating factors related to credit analysis for approval.
• Respond to internal and external customer inquiries.
• Perform other duties as needed.
