Job summary

Zions Bancorporation is seeking an SBA Underwriter to underwrite SBA loan products (7a, Express, 504). The role can be remote within our footprint or in-office near the Midvale, UT area if desired, with tasks including data collection for credit packages, spreads and cash flow analysis.

You will interpret analyses, present recommendations with Relationship Managers to Credit Approvers, and evaluate loan applications for commercial and small business lending.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Finance, Business, Accounting or related field plus 1+ year underwriting experience.
• Understanding of commercial, CRE and SBA loan underwriting and spread analysis.
• Knowledge of balance sheets, income and cash flow statements.
• Knowledge of SBA SOP and banking regulations.
• Strong judgment and ability to handle confidential information.
• Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and loan-to-value information.
• Self-motivation, dependability and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite SBA loan products (7a, Express, 504) ensuring SOP and policies are followed.
• Prepare credit packages with spreads, cash flow, collateral, appraisals and related data.
• Present recommendations to Credit Approvers with Relationship Manager as needed.
• Evaluate and form opinions on loan approvals/denials for commercial and small business loans.
• Spread financial statements, identify credit strengths/weaknesses and document analysis.
• Identify risks and mitigators in credit analysis for approval.
• Support loan structuring with RM on complex long-term or rate scenarios.
• May lead second-level approvals and assist with other duties as assigned.
