Job summary

United Community seeks a skilled SBA Portfolio Manager to oversee its SBA lending portfolio, perform credit analysis, underwriting, and sales support. The role emphasizes mitigating underwriting risks, analyzing new SBA credit opportunities, and collecting client financial information.

You will mentor servicing staff, manage renewals, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with branch bankers. This is a full-time, on-site position with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree; 7–10 years in financial analysis, loan structuring, underwriting, and portfolio management preferred.
• 3–5 years of SBA lending administration experience.
• Ability to manage risk factors, maintain accountability for decisions, and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Review loan documents and financial statements; spread and interpret cash flows.
• Assess strengths/risks of requests and propose mitigations.
• Prepare and present credit analysis packages through approval channels.
• Serve as a secondary client contact for loans in the branch footprint.
• Evaluate renewals for SBA Express Lines of Credit; manage past due accounts.
• Mentor servicing team members and support ongoing compliance.
• Review portfolios approaching maturity and coordinate data for renewal decisions.
• Identify red flags and work with clients/bankers on corrective actions.
• Assist with initial CAR preparation for transition to Special Assets.
• Complete annual reviews of borrowing relationships per SBA procedures.
• Contribute to special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
