Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies seeks an experienced Robotics Solutions Engineer to design, build, and integrate software powering autonomous robots. You will work across the full robotics stack from sensor integration to high-level perception and planning, collaborating with cross-functional partners to translate requirements into robust, production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, CS, EE, or related field.
• 5+ years robotics software engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS 2 in production projects.
• Experience with perception, localization, motion planning, or control.
• Familiarity with sensor fusion and Kalman/particle filter techniques.
• Experience with Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo.
• Strong debugging skills in real-time and concurrent systems.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Experience supporting field tests and hardware integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop robotics software in C++ and Python with real-time performance and reliability.
• Design and integrate sensor data pipelines (cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, proprioceptive sensors).
• Implement perception, localization, and mapping algorithms including SLAM and sensor fusion.
• Develop motion planning, control, and trajectory generation respecting constraints for production robots.
• Build behavioral systems using state machines, behavior trees, or task planners.
• Integrate ROS / ROS 2 frameworks with hardware and embedded systems.
• Implement safety-critical patterns including watchdogs and safe stops.
• Build simulation environments (Gazebo, Isaac Sim) for development and testing.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and ML engineers; gather requirements and align on approach.
• Design and execute field tests, data collection, and post-test analysis.
• Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date technical documentation and runbooks.
• Mentor junior engineers through code/design reviews and pairing sessions.
• Evaluate emerging robotics technologies and provide grounded recommendations.
