Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Robotics Automation Engineer to join its virtual engineering team. You will design, simulate, and implement robotic systems and automated processes for manufacturing, using ROS, Python, C++, and PLCs, while coordinating with clients and engineers remotely.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in robotics and automation, advanced degrees in related fields, strong control theory knowledge, and proven ability to manage complex projects from anywhere in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, CS or related field with robotics/automation specialization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate robotic systems and automation solutions for manufacturing and industrial applications.
• Develop and optimize robot control programs using ROS, Python, C++, PLC programming.
• Perform kinematic and dynamic simulations of robotic systems to verify performance.
• Collaborate virtually with clients and internal teams to define project scope and timelines.
• Oversee remote implementation, commissioning, and testing of robotic cells and automation systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation and robotics-related issues.
• Develop technical documentation, including system designs, programming logic, and user manuals.
• Stay current with advancements in robotics, AI, and automation.
• Ensure solutions meet safety standards and client expectations.
