Job summary

Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a Rights & Permissions Specialist to support the contracts and intellectual property function of a national nonprofit organization. This remote role requires experience obtaining licenses and managing permissions for third-party materials, with strong research and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities include reviewing licensing terms, drafting permission requests, maintaining DAM records, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure IP compliance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with copyright, rights and permissions, and/or asset licensing (or IP licensing).
• 3+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Ability to independently research rights holders and licensing processes.
• Familiarity with licensing agreements, IP rights, and copyright requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review content and identify copyright, licensing, and permissions requirements.
• Research copyright ownership and identify rights holders.
• Obtain permissions and licenses for third-party materials.
• Negotiate licensing terms, usage rights, and fees.
• Draft permission requests and licensing agreements using templates.
• Maintain third-party licenses and DAM records.
• Track license terms, renewals, and expirations.
• Audit for copyright and licensing compliance.
