Job summary

Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a Rights & Permissions Specialist to support contracts and IP for a national nonprofit. The role requires hands-on work in copyright, permissions, and third-party licensing, with records management in a DAM system.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of relevant experience and strong research and negotiation skills. This is a fully remote, full-time position with a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with copyright, rights and permissions, and/or asset licensing.
  • Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience preferred, though not strictly required.
  • Ability to independently research rights holders and navigate third-party permissions.
  • Familiarity with licensing agreements, contract terms, and IP rights.

Responsibilities

  • Review content to identify copyright, licensing, and permissions needs.
  • Research ownership and identify appropriate rights holders.
  • Obtain permissions and licenses for third-party materials.
  • Negotiate licensing terms, usage rights, and fees.
  • Draft permission requests and licenses using templates.
  • Maintain third-party licenses and track terms and renewals.
  • Document rights, permissions, and assets in a DAM system.
  • Assist internal teams on copyright restrictions and usage.
