Job summary

61st Street Service Corporation provides administrative and clinical support for ColumbiaDoctors. The Customer Service Specialist II is primarily remote, handling calls from patients, insurers and offices, and assisting with collections and payment arrangements.

Candidates must reside in the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT). Occasional office visits may be required for training. Opportunity to grow through the Revenue Cycle Career Ladder with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year in physician billing or third-party payer.
• Understanding of contracts, insurance benefits, and billing compliance.
• Ability to navigate payer adjudication processes.
• Experience with Epic or other medical billing systems preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Academic healthcare/call center/claims experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-volume patient and provider calls.
• Collect outstanding balances and establish payment arrangements.
• Update patient and guarantor information in the billing system.
• Document payment terms and apply payments to the correct date of service.
• Address inquiries, disputes and complaints; escalate as needed.
• Obtain insurance, demographic, and guarantor information and update records.
• Perform other duties as required.
