Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist II to support the Patient Financial Services team. Under supervision, you will review and resubmit claims, perform account follow-up, and keep billing information current in our systems.

The position requires strong customer service and analytical skills, knowledge of payor contracts, and adherence to billing policies. Remote work with cross-training in revenue cycle functions may be available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years in hospital or professional billing and/or collections; four years preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
• Experience with Medicare, Medi-Cal and other payors a plus.
• Basic computer skills; MS Office, Web/Vs, Emdeon and CS-Link preferred.
• Understanding of HIPAA and privacy guidelines preferred.
• Ability to perform basic business math and multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Professional and courteous demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and resubmits claims to third party payors.
• Performs account follow-up and updates information on accounts.
• Maintains data entry with accuracy in billing systems.
• Monitors work queues and escalates issues to supervisor as needed.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Cedars-Sinai core patient accounting systems and related policies.
