Job summary

Strongpoint Partners seeks a Retirement Onboarding Manager to lead a team responsible for onboarding new retirement plan clients. You will oversee the full onboarding lifecycle, from document review to coordination with recordkeepers, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has deep qualified plan knowledge, a track record of leading teams, and a passion for scalable processes while keeping client experience central to the work.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with retirement plan documents, qualified retirement plans, or TPA operations.
• 2+ years of experience supervising, managing, or leading a team.
• Expert understanding of ERISA and IRS regulations governing qualified retirement plans.
• Extensive experience drafting and reviewing retirement plan documents.
• Deep understanding of 401(k) plan provisions and plan design concepts.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to explain complex concepts.
• Strong coaching skills and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Retirement Onboarding Specialists, including hiring, training, goal setting, and performance management.
• Assign and balance onboarding caseloads based on plan complexity, team capacity, and client deadlines.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex plan provisions, challenging conversions, and client or partner concerns.
• Build a team culture centered on accountability, collaboration, accuracy, and continuous learning.
• Oversee onboarding for all new retirement plan clients, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
• Review plan document mapping, amendments, restatements, SPDs, and related materials for accuracy and compliance.
• Own onboarding systems, status reporting, and documentation, providing leadership visibility into pipeline.
• Lead plan provision and onboarding calls for complex clients, advising on design options and next steps.
• Guide the team on plan design improvements and solutions for provisions not supported by recordkeepers.
