Job summary

Cross Country Mortgage is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer for a full-time remote role in the United States. You will originate residential mortgage loans, guide borrowers through the lending process, gather documentation, and collaborate with underwriting and processing teams to close loans.

You will maintain proactive communication with customers and real estate partners, ensure compliance, and leverage mortgage technology to support a smooth borrower experience.

Qualifications

• Experience originatING residential mortgage loans.
• Knowledge of Mortgage Industry regulations, products, and market trends.
• Hand-on experience in application intake, documentation review, and loan structuring.
• Familiarity with underwriting principles and criteria.
• Strong customer service, clear communication, and active listening.
• State licensing and NMLS registration; additional mortgage/finance certifications are a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage a loan pipeline.
• Proficiency with mortgage origination software and basic office tools.
• Experience collaborating with real estate agents, builders, and referral partners.

Responsibilities

• Consult with prospective borrowers to assess needs and guide loan selection.
• Gather and review financial documentation from applicants.
• Submit complete loan applications and coordinate with underwriting/processing teams.
• Monitor loan files to ensure timely approvals and closings.
• Maintain regular communication with customers, real estate partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Adhere to regulatory/compliance standards and use mortgage tech platforms.
