Job summary

Humana Inc. seeks a Research Scientist 2 to apply statistical and epidemiologic methods to high-volume data, identify trends, and size opportunities for improving clinical outcomes for Medicare Advantage members.

You will write SQL, SAS, and Python to assemble data, create analytic variables, and build models, while translating results into actionable insights for business partners. This is a remote, full-time role with occasional travel for training or meetings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative discipline is required.
• Experience applying research methods to transform large data into insights.
• Experience with experimental/quasi-experimental methods such as RCTs or difference-in-difference.

Responsibilities

• Perform exploratory analyses on populations, trends, and clinical conditions to identify opportunities for savings and outcomes improvements.
• Collaborate with clinicians to define clinical concepts and extract information from medical/pharmacy/lab claims for analytics.
• Use descriptive and epidemiological methods to analyze data and model outcomes.
