Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC - Univ) College of Nursing seeks a full-time Program Coordinator to manage day-to-day operations for the NIH-funded UNDERSTAND study, a remotely delivered behavioral trial for caregivers of people with cognitive impairment.

Under the PI, you will coordinate recruitment, screening, consent, retention, regulatory documentation, REDCap tasks, safety tracking, compensation, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant program experience.
• Experience coordinating NIH-funded clinical, behavioral, or community-based research preferred.
• Experience with longitudinal or remotely delivered intervention studies preferred.
• Experience working with caregivers, older adults, or dementia-related research preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate IRB-approved recruitment activities with clinical, community, and research partners.
• Respond to prospective participants and conduct prescreening and eligibility procedures.
• Conduct informed-consent activities when trained and delegated.
• Maintain recruitment, enrollment, withdrawal, and retention records.
• Monitor recruitment metrics and identify barriers for PI review.
• Serve as the primary operational contact for study participants.
• Coordinate baseline, intervention, post-intervention, and six-month follow-up activities.
• Provide protocol-approved instructions, schedules, materials, and reminders.
• Track missed assessments and participant-reported barriers.
• Coordinate intervention sessions and qualitative interviews with study personnel.
• Maintain regulatory and study documentation and track deadlines.
• Prepare regulatory materials and amendments for PI review.
• Coordinate study meetings and action items.
• Support NIH progress reporting and ClinicalTrials.gov activities.
• Coordinate development, testing, and maintenance of REDCap instruments.
