Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group, a Leidos company, is seeking a Renewables Design Engineer to support utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects from concept to construction. This full-time role offers remote and/or hybrid scheduling with minimal travel and entails issuing IFC drawing sets and general arrangement work.

The ideal candidate has experience in underground distribution design and inverter-based resources, is proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering focused on the power side.
• 4+ years in design and construction of power/generation/renewable energy projects.
• Familiarity with NEC, UL, and ISO standards.
• AutoCAD experience for 30/60/90/IFC drawing sets.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs for utility-scale solar PV and BESS from concept through construction.
• Create and maintain IFC drawing packages (plan views, profiles, diagrams, layouts, details).
• Produce construction-ready drawings meeting project specs and codes.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, and geotechnical teams for integration.
• Develop and review MV and distribution system layouts, cable routing, and wiring diagrams.
• Perform system design calculations (voltage drop, fault current, grounding).
• Prepare BOMs and equipment specifications for PV, BESS, and distribution equipment.
