Job summary

Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions is seeking an Underwriting Specialist for its Renewable Energy team in the U.S. The role underwrites and manages a portfolio of highly complex specialty accounts within broad authority, focusing on new business production, large account management, and relationship development.

You will build strong relationships with producers and collaborate with claims, risk control, and actuarial staff to deliver tailored insurance solutions and sustain profitable growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 5-10 years of renewable energy or related underwriting experience.
• Experience evaluating complex risks across wind, solar, battery storage and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites and manages a portfolio of complex accounts with broad authority.
• Develops and executes underwriting strategy to drive growth and profitability.
• Promotes strong relationships with producers and cross-functional partners (claims, risk control, actuary).
• Travels to key producers/accounts and stays visible in the marketplace.
• Provides mentoring to less experienced underwriters and stays current on industry trends.
