Job summary

TruCapital Partners in New York seeks an experienced Renewable Energy Casualty Underwriter to join our expanding E&S team. You will underwrite non-admitted casualty risks across solar, wind, battery storage, hydrogen, and other emerging technologies, balancing technical underwriting with broker engagement and portfolio development.

The role emphasizes profitability, risk selection, and collaboration with claims, actuarial, risk engineering, and product teams to shape pricing models and product

Qualifications

• 5+ years of casualty underwriting experience in E&S or specialty markets.
• Strong understanding of GL, Excess, Products, and construction-related casualty exposures.
• Experience underwriting complex or emerging risks, manuscript forms, and non-admitted placements.
• Proven ability to build broker relationships and manage a production-driven book.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and price non-admitted casualty risks in renewable energy.
• Evaluate exposures unique to renewable energy projects.
• Apply technical judgment to manuscript forms and endorsements.
• Manage a growing book with profitability and risk discipline.
• Maintain underwriting authority and compliance.
• Build broker relationships across Northeast and national E&S.
• Market the renewable energy casualty offering and drive growth.
• Provide broker service with underwriting discipline.
• Represent company at industry events and broker meetings.
