Job summary

Ascot Group is seeking a Senior Underwriter, Environmental, to join a collaborative team focused on renewable energy and the energy transition. You will generate new business and oversee an existing portfolio within your authority, acting as a subject matter expert in Emerging Technology within Environmental Casualty.

The role emphasizes broker relationships, cross-functional collaboration, and using AI-enabled tools to enhance decisions while delivering world-class service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Environmental or Biology/Chemistry) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience in the P&C insurance industry.
• Experience with environmental casualty and renewable energy products preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Environmental insurance products and regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage an assigned book of environmental casualty business.
• Grow and maintain broker and client relationships within the Renewable Energy sector.
• Monitor premiums, costs, and claims to ensure profitability.
• Operate within delegated underwriting authority and collaborate with internal partners.
• Provide feedback to improve processes and drive operational excellence.
• Travel up to 10–15% as needed.
