Job summary

RRC Companies is seeking a Relay Settings Engineer to help shape the future of energy production across the U.S. and Canada, with options for remote or hybrid work at U.S. or Canadian offices.

The role focuses on developing protective relay settings, performing coordination and fault studies, and supporting protection scheme development across transmission, distribution, substations, and renewables. A PE license or eligibility is required, with 5+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years of experience in relay settings, protection and control, or power systems engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) in the U.S. or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Develop and calculate protective relay settings for transmission, distribution, substations, and renewable energy facilities.
• Perform relay coordination studies, short circuit studies, and fault analysis for utility and industrial power systems.
• Support the design, implementation, and review of protection schemes.
• Investigate relay operations and assist with troubleshooting protection system issues.
• Prepare relay settings files, technical calculations, coordination reports, and supporting engineering documentation.
• Review diagrams and schematics for accuracy and compliance.
