Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director to lead scientific exchange, collaborate with national and regional SLs, and guide data-driven discussions across AOIs. The role supports investigator-sponsored research and company-sponsored trials with emphasis on enrollment strategy and protocol oversight.

You will engage in scientific congresses, disseminate robust medical information, and promote an inclusive, high-performance culture within the Medical Affairs organization.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO or MD required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant therapeutic experience beyond the terminal degree.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Dedication to scientific excellence with strong focus on education and dialogue.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking skills.
• Familiarity with FDA, OIG, HIPAA and other ethical guidelines and regulations.
• Strong ability to organize, prioritize and work in a changing environment.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneNote) and virtual meeting platforms.

Responsabilités

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs for access to approved medical information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains reliable company contact within SLs.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs inquiries on issues outside scope to appropriate resources.
• Maintains current knowledge of AOI in the therapeutic area.
• Initiates discussions with SLs/investigators for data exchange and strategy alignment.
• Enhances understanding of investigator-sponsored research goals and requirements.
• Identifies barriers to patient enrollment and retention to hit study milestones.
• Recommends study sites and investigators; conducts SIVs and supports enrollment milestones.
• Provides protocol leadership in collaboration with GCTO; answers investigators’ questions about participation.
• Engages in scientific congresses and medical meetings and facilitates data exchange.
• Gathers feedback to inform company priorities and patient needs.
• Goes beyond to foster inclusion, leadership by example and workforce empowerment.
