Job summary

Merck seeks a Regional Medical Scientific Director to serve as a therapeutic expert, engaging with Scientific Leaders and providing objective scientific information on Company products and non-product areas. The role supports Scientific Exchange, Research, Congress activities, and insights.

The position covers FL, GA, AL, AR, LA, and MS with travel up to 50% and a focus on ethics, SOPs, and FDA-compliant practices across GMSA guidelines.

Qualifications

PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond terminal degree program.
Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
Strong ethical and compliance understanding for pharmaceutical industry obligations.

Responsibilities

Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to ensure access to approved medical information.
Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a medical contact within the company.
Addresses scientific questions and directs inquiries to appropriate resources.
Keeps current knowledge of AOI and scientific environment in therapeutic area.
