Job summary

Merck & Co. seeks a Regional Medical Scientific Director to lead scientific exchange, research collaboration, and congress support across the US region, including MS. The role requires a terminal degree and proven experience in hematology/oncology-related medical affairs.

Travel up to 50% within the territory is expected; the position emphasizes medical education, publication, and strategic collaboration with external stakeholders to align with company guidelines and GMSA policies.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD degree required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond the terminal degree program.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with key external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to ensure access to company-approved medical and scientific information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a reliable presence with SLs as a medical contact within the company.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs SL inquiries on issues outside the scope to appropriate resources per policies.
• Maintains current knowledge of the dynamic scientific and clinical environment in the AOI for the therapeutic area.
