Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in GI/IBD to drive scientific exchange, enable access to company-approved information, and support investigator-driven research.

You will collaborate with national and regional SLs, lead scientific discussions, and ensure alignment with GMSA strategy and SOPs. The role emphasizes field leadership, ongoing scientific education, and collaboration with GCSA and GCTO teams to advance programs and trials.

Qualifications

• Requires PhD/MD/PharmD/DNP/DO or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with external stakeholders.
• Ability to discuss scientific topics at a doctoral level with stakeholders.
• Familiarity with FDA, HIPAA, and industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national/regional GI/IBD SLs for approved scientific information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains medical contact with SLs.
• Directs SL inquiries to appropriate company resources per policies.
• Keeps current knowledge of AOI science and clinical environment.
