Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a Machine Safety Specialist to assist in the assessment, design, implementation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation of industrial machine safety systems. The role supports safety-related control systems, risk assessments, and compliance with industry standards across projects.

The ideal candidate will work under supervision on moderately complex tasks, contribute to the development of safety circuits, and collaborate with project engineers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in controls or automation is preferred.
• Experience with machine safety risk assessments and audits.
• Knowledge of ANSI B11, NFPA 79, ISO 13849, IEC 62061, OSHA requirements.
• Familiarity with safety-rated PLCs, relays, I/O, and field devices.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Support machine safety risk assessments and audits.
• Assist in developing machine safety solutions per standards and client requirements.
• Participate in machine safety testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs and control system documentation.
• Assist with documentation: safety function specs, test procedures, and FAT/ SAT procedures.
• Provide technical guidance to teammates and interact with vendors.
