Job summary

Waverly Health Center is seeking a patient scheduling coordinator to support referral management and clinical appointments. You will coordinate referrals, scheduling, and testing, while ensuring accurate documentation and confidentiality in electronic records.

In this role, you will communicate with patients, providers, and insurance entities to obtain prior authorizations, provide patient education, and support a seamless continuum of care across clinic and hospital services.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of healthcare experience preferred; clinic setting experience is a plus.
• Ability to read, speak, and write fluent English.
• Ability to learn and navigate computer systems and job-specific software.

Responsibilities

• Schedules referrals and testing/procedures for patients with appropriate orders.
• Communicates appointment information clearly to patients and families.
• Obtains prior authorization from insurance companies before procedures.
• Coordinates communications among patients, providers, and hospital staff.
• Provides patient/family teaching and documents in electronic records.
• Works with nursing staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintains patient records with confidentiality.
