Job summary

First American is seeking an experienced attorney with title underwriting expertise to support underwriting decisions for real estate title insurance commitments and policies. You will apply underwriting standards, collaborate with teams, and guide settlement services to ensure accurate risk assessment.

Required are a law degree and active bar admission, along with 5–7 years of title underwriting experience and strong knowledge of real estate law and related regulations.

Qualifications

• Law degree required and licensed to practice law.
• 5–7 years title underwriting experience.
• Familiar with real estate law and settlement processes.
• Understanding of federal/state real estate regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting support and authorization for real estate title insurance.
• Underwrite title insurance in line with delegated authority.
• Guide colleagues in real estate settlement services.
• Publish underwriting standards per established processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
