Job summary

First American’s Agency Division is seeking a title underwriting specialist, remotely within New Jersey, with 5–7 years of title underwriting and strong real estate law knowledge. You will provide underwriting support, counsel agents, and guide settlement services to issuance of title insurance policies.

Preferred is a Law Degree with licensure in the region; candidates must be detail-oriented, possess strong negotiation and communication skills, and be able to collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• Law Degree preferred.
• Licensed to practice law in state within region, in good standing, preferred.
• 5-7 years title underwriting experience.
• Real estate transactional experience.
• Must be familiar with real estate law.

Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization for issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
• Use underwriting standards within delegated authority to underwrite title insurance.
• Guide personnel in real estate settlement services.
• Issue underwriting standards and guidelines in accordance with company processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
