Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Radiology Scheduling Senior Specialist for Days – Full Time Remote. This role trains peers, mentors new hires, and oversees complex scheduling across clinics and radiology services.

You will coordinate lab tests, imaging, and procedures while maintaining service levels and efficient staffing. Applicants should be fluent in English, proficient in EPIC EMR and Beacon modules, and dedicated to delivering high-quality patient scheduling support

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years in healthcare scheduling or related role.
• Expertise with EPIC EMR and MyChart messaging system.
• College coursework toward degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expert knowledge of scheduling guidelines, registration, pre-certification, and billing basics.
• Lead with role models and uphold system values.
• Ensure accurate scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations for clinics, telehealth, and radiology-related procedures.
• Act as escalation point for the most complex scheduling.
• Manage workload from appointment request queues and coordinate with providers and clinical teams.
• Verify physician orders against scheduled appointments for accuracy.
• Coordinate cyclical scheduling for labs, radiology imaging, and procedures.
• Build strong provider and team relationships and advocate for patient needs.
• Communicate financial concerns with the Financial Advisor and assist with patient billing questions.
• Register patients pre-visit or on arrival; verify demographics, insurance, and referrals.
• Check out patients post-visit and help with MyChart setup or after-visit summaries.
• Monitor Inbasket and voicemails for scheduling requests and updates.
• Provide timely, accurate information to patients about prep and exam notes.
• Train lower-level staff and mentor new team members as needed.
• Monitor scheduling volume and staffing to meet service levels.
• Audit productivity and provide performance feedback to supervisors.
• Support Epic updates and implementation of new modules.
