Job summary

Hall & Kay in Swinton, UK, is seeking a Commercial Manager to oversee financial delivery on projects from £100k to £4m. You will manage interim payments, final accounts, budgets, and monthly cost reporting while liaising with clients and subcontractors to safeguard contractual obligations.

Remote role from Swinton with strong focus on contract knowledge, cost control, and dispute resolution. Mentoring junior staff and ensuring accurate site records are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial role within fire protection/building services.
• Good knowledge of standard forms of contract.
• Strong cost control, reporting and budgeting capabilities.
• Experience with final accounts and dispute resolution processes.
• Proficient in MS Project, Excel and related software.

Responsibilities

• Agree interim payment amounts with clients and monitor due dates.
• Negotiate final accounts and assist with budget preparation.
• Monitor budgets vs. costs monthly and report to management.
• Assist with troublesome subcontractor final accounts.
• Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled and recorded.
• Manage variations, delays and other commercial matters with project team.
• Prepare contractual notices with Project Manager/Directors.
• Attend site visits to review variations and quality issues.
• Participate in client meetings as needed.
• Review tender stage terms with Sales team.
• Maintain relationships with clients and consultants.
• Mentor junior team members.
