Job summary

Hall & Kay is recruiting a Project Manager to deliver fire protection and security projects on time and within budget. You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate client communications, and ensure project documentation and regulatory compliance throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires substantial construction project experience, SMSTS/CSCS, and familiarity with EN/LPS schemes, with a focus on cost control and on-site leadership. Remote working options exist for this role.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with BS EN 12845 and LPS1048 schemes.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings.
• SMSTS and CSCS cards held.
• Prince2 project management familiarity.
• Commercial awareness in cost management.
• Proficient with MS Office applications.
• Management of on-site labour & resources.
• Valid SMSTS & CSCS Card Holder.
• Knowledge of CDM Principles.
• Extensive knowledge of RAMs, Quality Plans, Project Plans, CTCS/Trackers.

Responsibilities

• Lead project initiation and handover meetings with stakeholders (Sales, Design, QS).
• Produce and maintain project programme and schedules.
• Maintain client communications throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage central project records and end-of-project documentation (RAMs, O&M, as-fitted drawings).
• Attend Cost To Complete (CTC) meetings and manage on-site resources to keep to programme.
• Identify and resolve supplier non-conformities; raise variations and final accounts.
• Ensure installers are briefed and competent.
• Raise PORs with Tier 1 suppliers.
• Manage on-site resources and resolve issues to maintain programme.
• Participate in audits (internal/third party).
• Record and resolve supplier non-conformities.
• Consult with SMEs as required.
• Manage material and labour costs.
• Identify and invoicing of variations.
• Raise final accounts.
• On-site inspections per schedule (H&S).
• Facilitate toolbox talks.
• Complete H&S documentation (RAMs, attendance sheets).

Summary of Role

You will deliver Fire Sprinkler projects on time, to budget and in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.

What you will be doing

• Leading project Initiation/handover meetings with all stakeholders including Sales, Design, QS.
• Production and maintenance of project programme.
• Communication with clients throughout the life of a project.
• Maintenance of central project file records.
• Attendance at internal project Cost To Complete (CTC) meetings.
• Completion and submission to relevant stakeholders of all end-of-project documentation e.g. O&M, As-Fitted Drawings, Certification.
• Ensuring installers are adequately briefed, are competent & qualified to fulfill all project requirements.
• Raising PORs using authorised Tier 1 suppliers.
• Supporting and managing of on-site resources ensuring all issues are resolved and the programme maintained.
• Participating with internal & third party audits.
• Identifying, recording & ensuring the resolution of any supplier generated non-conformities.
• Consulting with subject matter experts where required.
• Management of material and labour costs.
• Identification and invoicing of variations to contract.
• Raising of final accounts.
• Undertaking & recording on-site inspections in accordance with EHS001 scheduled frequency.
• Facilitating on-site toolbox talks.
• Completion of all H&S related documentation Inc. RAMs, attendance sheets etc.

What we will need from you (all essential)

• Working knowledge of BS EN 12845 & LPS1048 Schemes.
• Working knowledge of engineering drawings.
• LPCB Testing & Commissioning Module 2 Competent.
• LPCB Site Inspection Module 1 Competent.
• Familiarity with the principles of Prince 2 project management methodologies.
• Experience in managing complex, large budget projects in the construction industry.
• Practiced at management of on-site labour & resources.
• Valid SMSTS & CSCS Card Holder.
• Knowledge of CDM Management Principles.
• Extensive knowledge of production of project documentation eg. RAMs, Quality Plans, Project Plans, Cost Sheets (CTC), Trackers.
• Familiarity with all standard MS office applications
• Commercial acumen - Identifies and maximises project cost savings.
