Job summary

Design Hire is seeking an experienced remote Project Manager to lead commercial fire protection projects from award through closeout. You will ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery while coordinating with customers, field leadership, vendors, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of PM experience in commercial construction, strong financial and operational leadership, and the ability to hold teams accountable for schedules and profitability. NFPA/OSHA knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of Project Management experience within commercial construction.
• Strong financial acumen with project budgets & forecasting.
• Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to read/interpret construction drawings, mechanical plans & specs.
• Estimating experience required.
• Strong scheduling & planning experience.
• Excellent leadership & communication skills.
• Experience with fire suppression, sprinkler systems, mechanical contracting, plumbing, HVAC, or MEP projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple commercial construction projects from kickoff through completion.
• Own project budgets, forecasting, billing, cost tracking, profitability, and financial reporting.
• Build and maintain detailed project schedules with milestones.
• Coordinate engineering, design, fabrication, procurement, field ops, subcontractors, and customers.
• Review drawings and specs to ensure successful execution.
• Lead project meetings and communicate progress, risks, & financials.
• Identify schedule, labor, or budget issues and implement corrective actions.
• Hold field teams accountable for productivity, quality, safety, and schedule.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, closeout docs, and customer communication.
• Ensure projects comply with NFPA standards, OSHA regulations, local codes, and customer specs.
