Job summary

Hall & Kay is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the financial delivery and commercial affairs of diverse projects, ensuring robust contract compliance and value delivery. You will coordinate budgets, monitor costs, and negotiate final accounts, while guiding the project team and maintaining strong client relationships.

Experience in fire protection or building services with contract knowledge is essential, as is proficiency in cost control and dispute resolution.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar commercial role within fire protection or building services.
• Good knowledge of standard forms of contract.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and regulations in Fire Engineering.
• Proficient in cost control techniques and software applications.
• Awareness of dispute resolution procedures and managing disputes.
• Ability to produce accurate monthly cost and value reports.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• IT/Software experience such as MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of a range of project sizes with focus on financial delivery.
• Agree interim payment amounts with clients and monitor payment notices.
• Lead Final Account negotiations and closure.
• Prepare project budgets with Sales/Project Manager and monitor variances.
• Track budgets against costs and provide monthly reports.
• Assist with troublesome subcontractor final accounts.
• Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled and recorded.
• Interact with project team and Directors on variations/delays.
• Prepare contractual notices with Project Manager and Directors.
• Attend site visits and client meetings as needed.
• Contribute to tender stage terms and conditions reviews.
