Job summary

Custom Mechanical Solutions is seeking a Quality & Reliability Engineer to own and continuously improve the field-to-factory quality feedback loop for custom commercial HVAC equipment. You will lead investigations, translate field information into clear problem statements, and drive corrective actions through verified closure.

This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role across field operations, project teams, customers, engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and factory quality leaders.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering, or equivalent.
• At least three years in manufacturing quality, field service, commissioning, reliability engineering, or related projects.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to translate field information into clear technical statements and drive corrective actions.
• Ability to communicate complex issues to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally ~10–20% (Mexico facilities).
• Passport preferred or obtainable within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead field-to-factory investigations from report through containment, root cause, corrective action, and closure.
• Turn field intelligence into design/manufacturing improvements and documentation.
• Create field-ready Field Service Bulletins with repair steps and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain visibility of owners, milestones, risks, and overdue actions; remove blockers.
• Use data to identify trends and improve quality dashboards and leadership updates.
• Travel to customer sites and Mexico facilities to inspect equipment and validate actions.
