Job summary
ABB Inc. seeks a Quality Engineer to lead customer communications, act as design authority on medium-to high-complexity projects, and drive resolution of quality issues across ABB Critical Power initiatives.
The role blends engineering with commercial engagement and requires travel to support projects. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical distribution or power systems, plus 7+ years of experience (or 5+ with a relevant master's), and excellent English communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 7+ years' experience in electrical distribution or power systems; Master's with 5+ years
- Fluent in English
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
- Work authorization to work in the US with ABB
- Ability to collaborate with product management and engineering teams
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary customer contact for quality and technical issues
- Act as technical and design authority for engineering deliverables
- Review and approve designs; perform verification and peer reviews
- Identify and resolve technical challenges and communicate needs to teams
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure project execution
- Manage multiple concurrent projects with work plans and RFQs
