Job summary

ABB in the United States is seeking a Quality Engineer to serve as a technical design authority and primary customer contact for ABB Critical Power projects. You will lead cross-functional teams, review and approve designs, drive issue resolution, and manage multiple projects with 40% travel to customer sites, ensuring safety, quality, and contractual requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or (related field) with 7+ years' experience in electrical distribution or power systems; Master's degree with 5+ years' experience in electrical distribution or power systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Proficiency in MS Office, MS Teams, and ability to leverage AI tools in job functions.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Capability to establish and nurture partnership relationships with ABB Product management, engineering, and service.
• Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ABB's primary customer contact for quality and technical issues, leading communications, onsite support, action plans, and resolution timelines.
• Act as the technical and design authority for engineering deliverables on moderate- to high-complexity projects.
• Review and approve designs, perform verification and peer reviews, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, contractual, and as-built documentation requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges while communicating product gaps, customer needs, and market trends to commercial and product management teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, service, supply chain, sales, and product management to ensure successful project execution.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects, including work plans, cost estimates, RFQs, supplier evaluations, project meetings, contract variations, and timely delivery of engineering outputs.
