Job summary

Simera Professional seeks an Application QA Tester to validate software quality across web, mobile, and desktop platforms. You will design and execute manual test cases, track defects, and ensure release readiness in collaboration with developers, product managers, and designers.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with test management tools, and the ability to translate requirements into effective test scenarios. This is a remote-friendly position in the United States.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Application Tester, QA Tester, or Software Tester.
• Hands-on experience testing software applications.
• Experience creating and executing manual test cases.
• Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects.
• Familiarity with Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Experience performing functional and regression testing.
• Understanding of software development and release processes.
• Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
• Experience testing web, mobile, or desktop applications.
• Strong computer and digital skills.
• Reliable internet connection and a suitable setup for remote work.
• English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Execute manual and automated tests to validate application functionality and quality
• Review requirements, user stories, and specifications to identify testing needs
• Create and maintain test cases, test scenarios, test scripts, and testing documentation
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, usability, and exploratory testing
• Identify, reproduce, document, and track application defects
• Provide clear reproduction steps, expected results, and supporting evidence for reported issues
• Retest resolved defects and perform regression testing after application updates
• Validate application functionality against business and technical requirements
• Perform cross-browser, cross-platform, mobile, and device testing when required
• Test application interfaces, workflows, integrations, and data flows
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to investigate and resolve issues
• Monitor testing results and communicate quality risks and concerns
• Support release testing, deployment validation, and production verification activities
• Maintain accurate records of test results, defects, and testing progress
• Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, tools, and application quality
