Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Software Testing Principal (MUMPS) to lead testing initiatives for mission-critical healthcare applications in a remote, U.S.-based environment. You will oversee test planning, execution, and QA across MUMPS/InterSystems Cache platforms, ensuring data integrity and conformance with HL7/FHIR/EDI standards.

Qualifications

Experience in healthcare, government, or other highly regulated environments.
Experience testing enterprise applications supporting clinical, benefits, or healthcare operations.
Experience supporting legacy, long-lived mission-critical systems.
Experience testing applications developed using MUMPS and/or InterSystems Cache.
Experience validating healthcare business workflows and system functionality.
Experience developing detailed test plans, scenarios, scripts, and cases.
Experience performing functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT testing.
Knowledge of SDLC and testing methodologies.
Experience validating database updates and data integrity.
Ability to analyze system logs and test results to identify root causes.
Experience testing interfaces and system integrations.
Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, HIPAA EDI Transactions.

Responsibilities

Support testing and QA activities for healthcare applications in MUMPS/InterSystems Cache environments.
Support modernization efforts and production support for legacy healthcare systems.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, scripts and procedures.
Validate software enhancements, maintenance releases, defects, and upgrades.
Support functional, integration, regression, UAT, and end-to-end testing.
Verify data integrity across legacy healthcare applications and interfaces.
Test HL7, FHIR, EDI transactions and related standards.
Participate in Beta/IOC testing and coordinate issue resolution.
Analyze and troubleshoot defects, integration failures, and production incidents.
Collaborate with developers, analysts, product owners, and users to validate requirements.
Develop test data and environments for healthcare workflows.
Execute manual and automated testing where applicable.
Track and communicate testing metrics, defects, risks, and status.
Validate integrations with VistA, FileMan, and external systems.
Support root cause analysis and verification of fixes.
Review system requirements for testability and coverage.
Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.
Provide technical leadership on testing strategies for healthcare/government systems.
