Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Software Testing Principal (MUMPS) to lead QA for mission-critical healthcare systems. This remote, US-based role requires deep MUMPS/InterSystems Cache expertise and a track record in regulated environments, SDLC, and comprehensive test planning.

You will develop detailed test artifacts, validate HL7/FHIR/EDI transactions, and mentor junior testers while coordinating with business users and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, government, or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience testing enterprise applications supporting clinical, benefits, or healthcare operations.
• Experience testing legacy applications and long-lived mission-critical systems.
• Experience testing applications developed using MUMPS and/or InterSystems Cache.
• Experience validating healthcare business workflows and system functionality.
• Experience developing detailed test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, and test cases.
• Experience performing functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT testing.
• Understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies.
• Experience validating data integrity and healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, HIPAA EDI).

Responsibilities

• Support testing and QA for mission-critical healthcare applications in MUMPS/Cache.
• Develop and execute test plans, cases, scripts, and procedures.
• Validate enhancements, maintenance releases, defects, and upgrades.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, UAT, and end-to-end testing.
• Verify data integrity across legacy systems and interfaces.
• Test HL7, FHIR, EDI transactions and interoperability workflows.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, product owners, and users to validate requirements.
• Lead testing efforts and mentor junior testers; contribute to process improvements.
