Job summary

Simformotion LLC, the licensee for Cat® Simulators for Caterpillar Inc., seeks a Software Quality Automation Engineer to strengthen quality, reliability, and efficiency of their simulator and software products. This remote role emphasizes automation, AI-assisted testing, and collaboration within an Agile team.

The candidate should bring 3+ years in Software QA or test automation, strong testing fundamentals, and hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Expand and improve test coverage within PractiTest.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across simulator and software products.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions, internal automation tools, and scalable testing frameworks that reduce repetitive manual validation and improve efficiency, consistency, and release velocity.
• Help establish automation strategies, standards, and best practices across products.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools and workflows to accelerate test design, automation implementation, test maintenance, defect analysis, documentation, and continuous improvement of the QA process.
• Validate desktop applications, simulator software, and hardware integrations.
• Identify, document, and track defects using Jira.
• Create and maintain QA documentation, testing procedures, and knowledge-sharing resources within Confluence.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate closely with developers, testers, designers, and the Product Manager throughout the development lifecycle.
• Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve quality, expand automation coverage, eliminate manual validation effort, increase release confidence and team velocity.
