Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a senior QA leader to drive testing strategy across simulation, rendering, and data platforms for autonomous construction sites.

You will build and mentor a QA team, define standards, and own automation across UI, API, data, and integration layers. The role focuses on translating complex requirements into robust validation plans, partnering with software, robotics, and product teams, and improving CI/CD quality.

Qualifications

• Experience leading QA or SDET efforts for complex software platforms or robotics-related products.
• Define QA/QC processes, engineering quality standards, release criteria, and team practices.
• Hands-on test automation for modern web apps, APIs, backends, CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of frontend and backend quality concerns across JS/TS apps, APIs, data contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA strategy, planning, and execution across UI, API, data, and simulation layers.
• Define release gates, defect triage, acceptance criteria, and quality signals for engineering teams.
• Build and mentor a high-performing QA function, including hiring, onboarding, and coaching QA engineers/SDETs.
• Own automated test architecture for UI, API, integration, regression, data validation, and performance testing.
• Partner with software engineering, robotics, product, and architecture to translate requirements into testable plans.
• Champion CI/CD quality practices and release readiness reporting.
• Lead exploratory testing, risk reviews, and defect-prevention for simulation workflows and robotics use cases.
• Collaborate with robotics and platform teams to align customer needs with quality outcomes.
• Facilitate QA design reviews and post-release learning sessions.
• Propose improvements to processes and tooling to raise quality bar.
