Job summary

Arnold & Porter seeks a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Application Analyst to ensure quality, reliability, security, and performance of enterprise applications across desktop and endpoint environments.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Desktop Engineering, this role may be fully remote in a firm-approved U.S. state and collaborates with Desktop Engineering, stakeholders, vendors, and support teams to validate releases with minimal user disruption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, plus two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in application analysis, software quality assurance, application testing, or related roles.
• Knowledge of QA methodologies, testing principles, SDLC, and release validation.
• Proficiency with defect-tracking and ALM tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

• Translate business and technical requirements into testing strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform installation, upgrade, compatibility, functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing for enterprise applications.
• Validate packages (MSI, MSIX, EXE, IntuneWin32) and ensure silent install/uninstall, licensing, and default settings.
• Test compatibility with Windows updates, browsers, and Microsoft 365; participate in pilot deployments.
• Identify, document, and track defects; perform root-cause analysis and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
