Job summary

KACE Company is seeking Linguists fluent in Q'eqchi to provide real-time and recorded transcription for sensitive law enforcement work. You will deliver accurate, court-ready English transcripts from Q'eqchi, capturing slang, coded language, and pertinent details for investigations.

The role is remote, part-time/essential services with variable schedules, up to 40 hours per week on assignments. A Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year translation experience in Q'eqchi to English.
• Strong knowledge of Q'eqchi colloquialisms and slang.
• Excellent written and verbal skills in English and Q'eqchi.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe live or recorded communications in Q'eqchi to English.
• Provide timely, accurate, court-ready transcripts and summaries.
• Build and maintain slang/code lexicon for projects.
• Maintain daily productivity logs.
• Operate government-provided software/tools as assigned.
