Job summary

KACE Company is seeking a Linguist for Spanish-Mexican translation and real-time transcription to support sensitive law enforcement projects. The role is part-time and essential, with work contingent on project availability.

On-site work is required at client sites, including Houston, TX, and other locations as needed. You will transcribe and translate calls and documents, build slang term references, and ensure court-ready written products.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of translation experience in Spanish.
• Knowledge of Mexican Spanish colloquialisms, slang, and regional expressions.
• Familiarity with SMS shorthand, social media terminology, and web chat communications.
• Excellent English and Spanish grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

Responsibilities

• Listen to live or recorded Spanish communications and produce synopses and transcripts.
• Provide timely information to law enforcement personnel when supporting live monitoring.
• Maintain a master list of slang terms and codes for the project.
• Transcribe and translate calls and documents as assigned.
• Produce court-ready transcriptions in the required format.
