Job summary

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.

The Performance Engineer II - O&M oversees day-to-day operational activities on active projects, with a flexible setup that can be remote or hybrid and in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR. Location specifics will be discussed in interviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, science, or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years’ experience in PV Performance Engineering or data analytics.
• Experience modeling with PVSyst, PlantPredict, and SAM.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
• Programming experience in Python, VBA, MATLAB, Java preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety is the top priority and oversee field and office activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather data for reports and tests.
• On-board active projects into SOLV Energy’s Performance Team platforms.
• Monitor and address performance issues across the fleet with cross-team coordination.
• Troubleshoot data/equipment to support commissioning and reporting.
• Lead and mentor Performance Engineers I & II.
• Analyze energy losses and report impacts to stakeholders.
• Update client reports and commissioning plans using internal tools.
• Support field work prioritization based on criticality and failures.
• Review turnover docs to identify root causes of underperformance.
• Run PV system energy models using PVsyst and other models.
