Job summary

The National Academies seeks a Digital Product Manager, Publishing Systems to own publishing systems, prioritize enhancements, and coordinate vendor implementations under the Senior Manager, Publishing Operations. You will lead planning, testing, and backlogs to deliver workflow improvements across PNAS and PNAS Nexus content.

Remote-enabled role with collaboration across Editorial Operations, Production, and Finance, focusing on WCAG/ADA/GDPR compliance and measurable usability improvements.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of publishing technology and standards and their application.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems and communicate across the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate cross-departmental teams.
• Experience with usability testing and data-driven feature development.

Responsibilities

• Manages end-to-end implementation of workflow configuration changes and software updates.
• Leads product development lifecycle for publishing systems and prioritizes features with stakeholders.
• Acts as product owner and backlog overseer with Editorial Operations, Production, and Finance.
• Oversees system maintenance and tests for regressions to ensure quality.
• Coordinates rollout of new features and conducts user acceptance testing.
• Measures usability with analytics and interviews to inform future features.
• Ensures compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA, ADA Title II, and GDPR.
