Job summary

American Physical Society is seeking a Sales Contract Manager - Publishing to oversee the contract lifecycle for institutional sales and licensing compliance. This remote role bridges the Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, and Legal teams using CRM systems and AI tools to move deals from proposal to signature.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in contract management, with publishing/association experience, and strong negotiation and data-analysis skills. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management or related roles (publishing, contract or library administration).
• Experience at a publishing firm or association is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of scholarly publishing contracts, licensing, and negotiation.
• Proficient knowledge of Open Access knowledge and publishing trends.
• Advanced data analysis and software proficiency (CRM, Salesforce, MS Office Suite, Google Suite).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee contract lifecycle for institutional subscriptions and special deals.
• Review and revise contracts using AI tools to ensure licensing terms meet APS standards.
• Collaborate with Sales Support and Support teams on licenses for single-site licenses.
• Ensure accurate contract data in CRM (Salesforce).
• Maintain a clause library and templates for licensing agreements.
