Job summary

Motorola Solutions in the United States seeks an Engineer of Record to design and implement radio networks for public safety, including ASTRO 25 and adjacent technologies for State and Local agencies. This remote role requires 25-50% travel across NC, SC and GA to support projects of varying scope.

The engineer will lead design reviews, system buildouts, testing, and documentation, working with Sales, Project Management and Systems Engineering in a high-performance team focused on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline or equivalent.
• 3+ years of engineering or technical experience, or 5 years total experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of the radio network including infrastructure, subscribers, mobile backhaul and WAN and CEN networks.
• High level of customer and consultant interaction involving design reviews, witnessed staging and testing events, coverage testing and upgrades.
• System buildout, configuration and acceptance testing in both lab staging and field environments.
• Radio coverage testing, frequency analysis and interference mitigation.
• Radio system licensing (FCC/Industry).
• Prepare system fleet map, encryption and radio programming templates.
• Complete system documentation and live system cutovers and upgrades.
