Job summary

ECNS Global Consultants, PLLC is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer I-III to design, test, and maintain protective relay systems for electrical power networks. You will apply relay protection, coordination, and power system analysis to ensure reliability and safety of critical infrastructure.

This is a full-time, exempt role offering a salary range of $65,000 to $185,000 per year with opportunities for advancement and travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in electrical engineering.
• FE certification preferred; PE license preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain protection and control systems.
• Perform relay settings, coordination studies, fault analysis, and power system studies.
• Design, configure, test, and troubleshoot protective relays, SCADA, RTUs, communications networks, and automation systems.
• Support or lead commissioning, startup, FAT, SAT, outage support, and field implementation activities.
• Apply IEEE, ANSI, NERC, and related industry standards in designs and assessments.
• Support protection system design, operation, and maintenance for transmission, distribution, and substations.
• Perform relay event analysis and system investigations to ensure reliability.
• Coordinate with project teams, operations, contractors, vendors, and clients to deliver engineering solutions.
• Support or lead technical reviews, QA/QC activities, project planning, and deliverables.
• Protection & Control Engineer III: provide mentorship to junior staff.
