Job summary

Amerisure, a leading property and casualty insurer, seeks a Program Manager and Underwriter for program business in Property. The role drives underwriting strategy, pricing, and profitability across MGA and retail partnerships while guiding audits and governance.

You will mentor the underwriting team, analyze portfolios, and coordinate with actuarial and reinsurance to protect profitability. Remote-friendly with nationwide scope and travel expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience.
• 5 years multi-line commercial middle market insurance underwriting experience with a specialization in the Property line of business.
• 2 years of E&S experience preferred.
• Experience in catastrophe and aggregation modeling for Property portfolios.
• CPCU designation preferred.
• Experience with E&S in Property line of business.
• Ability to manage limits/value aggregation in a portfolio.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to lead discussions, quarterly reviews, and present findings.
• Travel within assigned area: MGA/agency visits and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Market, evaluate and price program business within Amerisure target classes.
• Set annual business plan and collaborate with agency/MGA partners.
• Evaluate portfolio performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Work with actuarial to assess portfolio performance and profitability.
• Develop underwriting guidelines and filings; address regulatory matters.
• Explore expansion opportunities with additional distribution partners.
• Mentor and train underwriting staff and support team.
• Audit MGA programs for compliance with guidelines and standards.
• Collaborate with Reinsurance on capacity and risk diversification.
• Interact with service teams to support program strategy and customer service.
