Selective Insurance seeks a Property General Adjuster to handle larger, more complex property and inland marine claims with exposures typically $100,000 and above. This is a fully remote role, and a company vehicle is provided.

The position favors candidates located within the footprint (Heartland, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Southern regions) with travel up to 25–50%. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation, policy interpretation, and claims software skills, plus a valid driver’s

Formación

• 5 years of property claims experience.
• Knowledge of Commercial and Personal Lines coverages.
• Experience with Xactimate or similar damage estimating software.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ability to work remote and travel as needed.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate and resolve coverage for property and inland marine claims within the region.
• Handle coverage determinations, negotiations, reserving, and settlements within authority.
• Provide reports to Claims leadership, Underwriting, Reinsurance, and Actuarial on significant exposure cases.
• Assist/deploy for CAT duty; deployments 2 weeks or longer based on need.
• Manage vendors and expenses efficiently.
• Report on cases going to trial and attend trials when requested.
• Ensure referrals and timely updates to reinsurer(s).
• Travel 25-50% of time.
