Job summary

Selective Insurance is seeking a Property Field Claims Specialist for the Chicago, IL territory. This is a fully remote position and includes a company vehicle.

The role handles property and inland marine claims typically valued between $25,000 and $100,000, with occasional higher losses, and requires about 75% travel by car within the territory. Qualifications

• Requires ability to work varying shifts.
• Proficient with standard business and claim-specific software; good keyboarding skills.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license and be able to drive an automobile.

Responsibilities

• Handles property/inland marine claims for assigned region with availability to assist as needed in all other regions.
• Evaluates and settles property-related damages (primarily) between $25,000 and $100,000 (aggregate). May handle losses over $100,000 occasionally.
• Handles typical Business Income losses and contributes to catastrophe response as needed.
• Responsible for coverage determinations, negotiations, reserving and settlement within authority; provides support to CMS as required.
